This article argues that in fragile territories the effective object of design is rarely the architectural project and more often the protocol; a shift that requires the designer to abandon the aerial perspective of the planner and work from inside the territory, as a constitutive part of the system being transformed.

Develops a smartphone-based protocol for mapping addresses and street data in small historic centers; field-tested across four Monti Prenestini towns, verifying 1,145 addresses and 11.28 km of streets, with a Python geocoding pipeline for national scaling.

Develops a participatory protocol for mapping, narrating, and publishing hiking itineraries on consumer platforms; prototyped over 7 hikes and 41.5 km, yielding 81 documented POIs and 28 curated trail profiles.
